Saxes and Clarinets and horns!! Oh my!! The November meeting of the Music Boosters for the school was very productive. Requests for instruments from Mahoney, Memorial and the High School totaling $15,000 were approved.

Mahoney Middle School will be adding a 3/4 size Tuba, a Yamaha Oboe and a Bass Clarinet to its instrument cache.

Memorial Middle School will now own a Baritone Horn, a French Horn, a Tenor Sax, a King Vavle Trombone and a Bass Clarinet.

The High School also will be receiving funds to purchase instruments.. Two Tenor Saxes and a Bass Clarinet.

The South Portland Music Booster are proud to award funds to purchase instruments for our schools. It is a great thing to know that year after year the instruments will be used to improve the quality of the music program.

The SPHS Wind Ensemble will travel to Orlando, Florida to compete in Disney's Magic Music Days and the Orlando Musicfest in April. They will be competing with hundreds of bands from across the nation. This is a performance of a lifetime as they will play for an audience of DisneyWorld visitors. The Music Boosters has generously agreed to cover half of the $65,000 cost. The remainder will be raised by the students through fundraising.
